BAI Open House — BAI Fellows, Berlin

For its Open House on 26 and 27 May 2018, the Berlin Art Institute presented BAI Fellows, an exhibition of works by current and former participants, as part of artspring 2018.

With its concept of an international, contemporary art school and residency, the BAI is an independent institute for artistic training, advanced training and research in Berlin, located in building complex 404 at the Industriebahn, An der Industriebahn 12–16, in the district of Weißensee.

For the Open House Florencia S.M. Brück showed La levedad del ser (The Lightness of Being) as an installation: transparent plastic hanging from the ceiling all the way to the floor, recalling the plastic she covered herself with for the photo shoot.

Made during the residency

In the weeks that followed, in the BAI studios, she made sculptures with mesh and plaster, stones and copper, three large oil paintings, and a series of works on paper.
