Espacio de Arte #41 :: Hadron Collider
Site Specific Art Installation – Suprasensorial // Experiments in Light, Color, Sound, Cinematic and Space.
Acrylic on canvas, Size: 190 W x 120 H cm. with stainless still lines and light installation. Buenos Aires, Summer 2016
The art installation challenges the space as a container. Light cables expand from a contemporary acrylic painting to challenge the lines within the space/room combined with cinematics and sound to further experience a boundaryless space.
The name “Hadron Collider” was inspired by the LHC in Switzerland, the world’s largest and most powerful particle collider, most complex experimental facility ever built, and the largest single machine in the world. It lies in a tunnel 27 kilometres in circumference, as deep as 175 metres beneath the France–Switzerland border near Geneva, Switzerland. The LHC has inspired works of fiction including the novel Angels & Demons, by Dan Brown, involves antimatter created at the LHC to be used in a weapon against the Vatican. The novel and TV series “FlashForward”, by Robert J. Sawyer, the feature documentary “Particle Fever”, among others.
