Casa FOA 2016 :: Hadron Collider

Hadron Collider is a site-specific installation for Casa FOA 2016 in Buenos Aires: Suprasensorial // Experiments in Light, Color, Sound, Cinematic and Space.

The installation challenges the space as a container. Light cables expand from a contemporary acrylic painting to challenge the lines within the room, combined with cinematics and sound, towards the experience of a boundaryless space.

Its name was inspired by the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland, the world’s largest and most powerful particle collider, the most complex experimental facility ever built and the largest single machine in the world. It lies in a tunnel 27 kilometres in circumference, as deep as 175 metres beneath the France–Switzerland border near Geneva. The LHC has also inspired works of fiction, among them Dan Brown’s novel Angels & Demons, in which antimatter created at the LHC is used in a weapon against the Vatican, Robert J. Sawyer’s novel and the TV series FlashForward, and the documentary Particle Fever.
