Florencia S.M. Brück’s contribution to Pavilion O2 Hanover, a transnational pavilion on the shared bio and cyber space of the future, shown at the Kunsthalle Faust in Hannover from 21 August to 13 September 2020. Curated by Tomasz Wendland and Harro Schmidt, the exhibition was organised by the Kunstverein Kunsthalle Hannover with the Mediations Biennale Foundation Poznań, in the run-up to the 7th Mediations Biennale Polska, Event Horizon.

The interactive installation uses a Kinect sensor to follow visitors and redraw their outlines as moving abstract lines on the screen, a kind of digital astral projection in which the mind seems to step away from the body. It draws on a near-death experience Florencia had at the age of five, when she drowned.

Twenty positions were shown in Hannover, from videos built on fractal geometry and a 360-degree view of the North Pole to works in augmented and virtual reality. Out-of-Body was later released as a generative NFT performance on SuperRare.

With the support of the Lower Saxony Foundation and the Cultural Office of the State Capital Hannover.
