Br\u00fcck and Calin Segal for the second edition of its Digital Artist in Residence programme (D.A.I.R.), curated by the Digital Center \u2013 ARCHiVe. More than thirty artists, researchers and developers from twelve countries applied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two artists were invited to spend a month on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, working with the Foundation\u2019s digital archives and with the team in the Digital Center labs, on how artificial intelligence can build new narratives from historical material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Florencia\u2019s proposal set out to use AI to reinterpret archival images, bridging past and future through AI-generated video and LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) learning models. Calin Segal, a Romanian computational artist trained as an architect in Paris, proposed AI-generated virtual actors embodying archetypal figures from small, everyday and forgotten historical events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The residency, which follows a 2024 pilot with Hiroaki Yamane, Mersid Rami\u010devi\u0107 and Matteo Rattini, extends the Foundation\u2019s long tradition of residential scholarships at the Vittore Branca Center to digital practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The work produced during the residency: <a href=\"https:\/\/florenciabruck.com\/web\/memory-recall\/\"><em>Memory Recall<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading fb-sub\">Works shown<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/florenciabruck.com\/web\/memory-recall\/\"><em>Memory Recall<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Florencia S.
