What is the allegory of the cave? It is the metaphor Plato sets out at the beginning of Book VII of the Republic<\/em> to describe the situation of human beings with respect to knowledge. Through it he explains how we can grasp the existence of two worlds: the sensible world, known through the senses, and the intelligible world, reached only through reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I approach the canvas without any model in mind, only the connection with chaos, which is the basis of creation. When I leave the work there is a period of contemplation, in which I sit in front of the painting and study it. It is here that the work reveals its name to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
