This idea was very popular among deists during \nthe Enlightenment, when scientists realized that Newton&#8217;s laws of \nmotion, including the law of universal gravitation, could explain the \nbehavior of the solar system.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ClockworkUniverse.
